Untitled[edit]

I have issues with this article, which is largely unsourced. There is a second Australian-born composer, who kept to the name Bill Lovelock and is occasionally confused with William. It was Bill, not William, who wrote "Snowy River Roll" (the one sourced fact here). (& there was yet another Bill Lovelock in the USA who wrote a Nina Simone song.)

I've done some information gathering myself in the past and will work on the article in a while. Mzilikazi1939 (talk) 07:57, 16 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Date of birth change[edit]

Can anyone confirm this edit is correct? Or find any other source that supports the March date? Thanks. -- Jack of Oz [Talk] 04:10, 8 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Seems they're plentiful. All good. -- Jack of Oz [Talk] 04:25, 15 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Selected compositions[edit]

This section has been steadily expanding over the years. Most of Dr Lovelock's major compositions are mentioned in Stephen Pleskun's A Chronological History of Australian Composers and Their Compositions, Volume 2: 1955-1984. There is also a fairly comprehensive list of his compositions on the Australian Music Centre's site, although this also includes work by the Australian-born song-writer Bill Lovelock. Another large section of his work is in the William Lovelock collection at London's Trinity College of Music. Rather than including everything from these sources in the article, I suggest mention there be limited to such works as

  1. Have a known date of composition, publication or first performance
  2. Are of significant length
  3. Have a significant place in his work
  4. And of which recordings or video performances are available

All items in the list will therefore now require a source that mentions most of these things. Sweetpool50 (talk) 20:36, 9 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
