"He served in both houses of the Maryland state legislature…" Can we link to the General Assembly here?

  • Done.

"...was admitted to the bar in 1851." Is there a link for the state bar?

"He was elected to a two-year term…" As a practicing lawyer, or did he decline to practice law to jump into politics?

  • Most politicians in those days kept up their outside employment. I've added some words to that effect.

"...he promoted a law permitting the local option…" Was a law passed, or did his efforts fall short?

  • It failed, for the time being. Added.

"...daughter of a Congregational minister…" link for the denomination

  • Done.

"...was more than enough to through the election…" misspelled throw

  • Fixed

"...he died suddenly at his home…" any word on the cause of death?

  • Added

For "Other political affiliations" in the info box, is there a way to denote all his former parties by the years in which he was affiliated? Or can you just list them off?

  • It's not clear exactly when he changed affiliations. People didn't register to vote by party in those days, and party affiliation was less clearly defined, especially for people who didn't hold office.

All else looks good from here. I'll recheck after you've touched on all these points…great article, very close to passing!QatarStarsLeague (talk) 16:26, 7 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
