Genre[edit]

While She Sleeps is a metallic hardcore band, not metalcore. And since references say so, stop changing the genres as you please. [1][2][3][4][5][6]

Metallic hardcore isn't an actual genre. It's a essentially a term used to refer to early, underground metalcore bands that played traditional hardcore punk mixed with crossover thrash and extreme metal, such as Earth Crisis, Biohazard and Converge. This definition does not at all apply to While She Sleeps, who are a modern metalcore/hardcore punk band who's sound is more comparable to the likes of Bring Me the Horizon, As I Lay Dying, Underoath, Parkway Drive, etc. The references you've provided misuse the term "metallic hardcore" as a vague overview of the band's style, and there's a multitude of other references available that correctly refer to While She Sleeps as a metalcore band.109.152.66.237 (talk) 21:32, 20 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

While She Sleeps doesn't sound like As I Lay Dying at all, the instrumentation has nothing to do. WSS is a hardcore band with some metalcore influences (while AILD is a real metal band). Moreover, some of those reviews were written by professional reviewers, so they're reliable sources. In fact, Metal Hammer stated:

Metallic hardcore might be all the rage in 2010, but WSS still stand out as one of the British bands to keep an eye on for the future.

”

You can add "metalcore" and "hardcore punk" to the genres section if you find some sources, but "metallic hardcore" is referenced correctly. Cristian MH (talk) 09:48, 21 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Metallic hardcore[edit]

I believe they should be changed to a "metallic hardcore" band. They're often cited as metallic hardcore rather than metalcore. I'll link it to metalcore though. Code Orange are labeled as that as well, and there are many other bands similar to While she Sleeps that are labeled as metallic hardcore.
