The is a problem with the picture used in this page, it's actually the photograph above of Tuakau train station, not Whangarata station. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Samuel.tk.pk (talkcontribs) 10:05, 1 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Thanks for pointing that out. I've changed it, but not sure whether it'd be better to use one of these Retrolens views - 29/04/1942 or 18/12/1961. Would one of these be better, are there any better images and why does that map and Maps Past show a station, but there's little sign of it on the photos? The 29/04/1942 one "show more station" than the "18/12/1961" one, but the 18/12/1961 one is clearer. Maybe the clearer one? From what I understand, it's not really a real station, more like a "sometimes" stop for trains? (at least nowadays) It may have been once an actual flag station, but that is just conjecture. There was once however an article somewhere I read about turning whangarata into a real flag station for the sake of local people (about needing to bring sick people to hospital via train) like way way back (somewhere around 1900-1930ish?). If it was a flag station, one can expect minimal "station strctures" to exist, I guess.122.59.254.210 (talk) 11:24, 2 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
