Parent co. reverted to Warner Bros. in Aug 2020?
Hi there. I was looking at the Warner Bros Interactive page and I noticed it is still part of Home Entertainment. Other pages state that it is part of Warner Bros Entertainment directly while Home Entertainment is moved to WarnerMedia Commercial. Which one is true? - Galagahunt: I found this press release cited in Warner Bros. Home Entertainment which said on 7 Aug 2020 that "Warner Bros. - The wording in that press release suggests that nothing has changed. The source from WarnerBros.com, cite #1 in the article, still says:
Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment, a division of Warner Bros. Home Entertainment, Inc., ...

- Where? The only remark in the press release, which you quoted, is that WBIE remains part of the WarnerMedia Studios and Networks group. That organizational unit of WarnerMedia encompasses, not falls under, Warner Bros. Entertainment. The statement still holds true with the previous flowchart: WarnerMedia -> [WarnerMedia Studios and Networks ->] Warner Bros. Entertainment -> Warner Bros. Home Entertainment -> Warner Bros. - The press release leaves room for questions. While "home entertainment" in general is mentioned, there is no direct reference to WBHE being placed under the Commercial unit (it more likely includes businesses like Otter and HBO Max). Even if that were correct, it is unclear whether these units are even parents to any of the companies, or whether they are just loose operating groups with an additional manager. However, I'd argue that, instead of guessing, we should just go with what the source we already have says explicitly: WBIE is a division of WBHE. If they ever change that or publish a new, unambiguous source, we can always change it here, too. IceWelder [✉] 23:14, 24 September 2020 (UTC)
- Yes, I see the press release is not fully clear on that subject; meanwhile our WBHE article is reporting it's now part of the Commercial division (similarly at List of assets owned by WarnerMedia#WarnerMedia Commercial). IceWelder, you should feel free to revert my changes for now if you are sure of your position and think we should continue to rely on the primary source that has not been updated despite the press release about the restructuring. –xenotalk 12:05, 25 September 2020 (UTC)
