Changes 6/18/2008[edit]

Removed the reference to Wisconsin Educational Communications Board - ECB, as a source of programming or a "network" for WDSE. Here is the scoop. Wisconsin Public Television - WPT is itself a service of the ECB. To note the ECB as a source or network for the programming would be like saying General Electric was the source of programming for an NBC station. Sure, in the big picture General Electric owns NBC, but NBC is the network or affiliation. In this case the ECB is the partent of Wisconsin Public TV - WPT, however WPT is the network from which the programs are delilvered. ECB is no network per se, that is the function of WPT. WDSE is an affiliate of WPT and not of the ECB. 131.212.19.51 (talk) 17:38, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

WDSE (TV)PBS North – a rebrand has occured. Alexander vee (talk) 02:24, 20 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose. Per WP:NCBC, U.S. station articles are typically titled by their call signs. PBS North Carolina is a different case because it is a station group, operating the 12 stations listed under PBS North Carolina#Stations. Zzyzx11 (talk) 16:04, 20 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
you have convinced me, thanks for your help Alexander vee (talk) 17:44, 20 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Before I close this as RM withdrawn, a little note for Alexander vee. Zzyzx11 just explained pretty concisely the difference. This is one station that does not need a common-name title because of the number of transmitters (as is the case for PBS North Carolina or Kentucky Educational Television). We use call signs for the titles of the vast majority of US broadcasting stations because they reduce duplication of article titles. However, the redirect at PBS North is merited, as is a mention of that name in the first sentence of the article. Sammi Brie (she/her • tc) 21:43, 21 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
