Semi Protection[edit]

This article needs 2 get semi protected because there is too much vandalism in it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 78.150.98.34 (talk) 21:39, 14 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Bisping-Silva[edit]

I'll just remind everyone that MMABay is completely unreliable (they are known for making things up, and the term "mmabay" has because of that been banned from e.g. sherdog.net to avoid giving them more traffic) and not acceptable as a source. Until a reliable source reports that the fight is signed it'll be removed. Cheers, --aktsu (t / c) 15:47, 23 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

And fightline has the fight not happening: http://www.fightline.com/news/mma/2009/0721/429372/michael_bisping/index.shtml --Drr-darkomen (talk) 16:22, 23 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
MMAFrenzy is reporting it (http://mmafrenzy.com/11050/report-wanderlei-silva-vs-michael-bisping-at-ufc-105/), but they only site the MMABay article. Since they haven't independently confirmed it, it is also an unreliable source. --Drr-darkomen (talk) 16:26, 23 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Date of the Event[edit]

Wow how ironic to have welterweights and light weights fight on the same day Manny Paquiao will be fighting. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.14.194.33 (talk) 21:35, 27 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Me thinks you don't know the difference between irony and coincidence. ;-) --Drr-darkomen (talk) 21:42, 27 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Flags[edit]

I notice all the British fighters have the Union Jack flag representing their UK status, while the UFC is now using country flags (Bisping had the St Georges Cross vs Hendo) so is it about time we switched from using the Union Jack and instead use their correct country flag? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.194.7.253 (talk) 01:40, 10 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Flags.... that's a whole other issue. If you look at MOS:FLAGS under "Use of flags for sportspeople" it says "Flags should never indicate the player's nationality in a non-sporting sense" which is (in my opinion) exactly what using flags for MMA fighters is doing. They don't represent their country like in the Olympics, the promotions just use the flag of place of birth. So it seems to me that flags shouldn't be used at all. This discussion has happened more than once. However, in the case of England vs. UK flags, MOS:FLAGS basically says it doesn't matter. --Drr-darkomen (talk) 01:46, 10 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

This issue has been discussed on several discussion pages (e.g. Mike Swick recently). it seems to me that there's a general agreement that UK flag should be preferred because that's more consistent with the regular international use. For instance nobody uses state flags to identify US fighters. 194.157.59.85 (talk) 09:46, 19 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Discussed by many IPs that YOU are controlling. You also seem to believe that you are an admin. Your harassment of me is boring now. Paralympiakos (talk) 14:27, 19 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Flags.. Denis Kang[edit]

Denis Kang should have a Canadian flag, not USA. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.6.248.176 (talk) 14:38, 13 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Denis Kang used the French flag, not USA's flag. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Fearlessincome (talkcontribs) 00:27, 15 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

DVD release[edit]

Anyone know why the Andre Winner vs Rolando Delgado fight has been edited off the DVD release? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.239.161.9 (talk) 11:45, 11 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
