Dear Sirs, The articular states that this area belongs to Puntland, but that is totally wrong. Historically this town used to be part of what was known the British Somaliland Protectorate (1) and therefore this area should be part of Somaliland. However, Puntland took control of this town in 2002 and there have been several clashed between Puntland and Somaliland forces since that time. Somaliland claim that the border demarcations between Somalia and Somaliland before 1960 should be respected and therefore recaptured this town today 08-01-2018.Therefore this area is as of today under the Somaliland control (2).

Partly done: One source given is to another Wikipedia article and so is not considered a reliable source for this article. The Xinhua news article makes it clear that the status of this town is not clear and it is disputed between the entities. The article lead has been changed to reflect this reality. Under Somaliland government authority[edit]

@Hawkers994: As I wrote in Talk:Bo'ame, occupying a town does not mean that the country owns that town. And you cannot delete a sourced statement that has nothing to do with it. Freetrashbox (talk) 06:12, 11 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
