Inscr: "To Geoffrey Hartwell - Well done! - Godspeed! - Tubby 12/7/54" in his own hand. I cab find no mention of the book in the article. Doctor of Divinity?[edit]

The Statue of Trajan, Tower Hill plaque describes him as "THE REVEREND P.B. CLAYTON, CH, MC, DD". --Lord Belbury (talk) 20:22, 6 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The ODNB article says "Clayton received the degree of DD (Lambeth) in 1954". See Lambeth degree for more info. DuncanHill (talk) 20:27, 6 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

John Winant[edit]

In 1948, Clayton and John G. Winant (the latter, at that time, the American Ambassador to the United Kingdom) set up the Winant Clayton Volunteer Association…

The date must be wrong. Winant stepped down as Ambassador in 1946, and committed suicide in 1947. Valetude (talk) 22:41, 13 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
