A diagram would be useful[edit]

Most usefully from my perspective would be explaining how exactly a "spring acting against a dashpot" (the latter being essentially a kind of shock absorber or fluid damper...) creates motion rapid and sharp enough to be considered as "snapping"... 209.93.141.17 (talk) 22:07, 15 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
