He wanted to be remembered as a local sexpot. Its something weird and not regular. But it was a request of his. The edits you are receiving are a fanbase desperate to see his wishes held somewhere. Add a citation to it, and parentheses around it, what ever it takes to justify this. But please, allow it. 174.251.193.52 (talk) 20:59, 11 August 2021 (UTC)

Describe him as a local sexpot as per his last wishes. You may think he was joking but he would have loved having that title. And for you to deny him that dying wish is fucked up Wikipedia 50.38.44.12 (talk) 13:45, 10 August 2021 (UTC)

What day did Trevor die?

The infobox says he died on the 7th, as does the intro, but the section on his death says he died on the 6th. AKA Casey Rollins Talk With Casey 05:55, 8 August 2021 (UTC)

I saw Trevor live on the 6th. Until 12am. Trevor passed on the 7th.

What accident?

Let's not just write "he died in an accident" and leave the question hanging. We can explain that there are no details about what kind of accident. CapnZapp (talk) 16:49, 8 August 2021 (UTC)

I've (for now) commented out that line as violating WP:BLPPRIMARY (which applies to recently deceased people as well as living people). A dynamic page on a coroner's website it not a reliable enough source for something like this. -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (she/they) 18:18, 8 August 2021 (UTC)

This is a well written article and it does comply with Wikipedia standards and rules. It has a good and accurate research and it has verifiable informative, good references on each paragraph, several serious contributors with good intentions have been developing this article and have done a good job. Please don't destroy this along damaging this person by getting his article eliminated from Wikipedia. Please think twice before editing this or any other article with bad intentions that only destroy.

I also appeal for administrators' patience with this kind of unwanted behavior from some immature users that misuse Wikipedia and please let the contributors with good intentions fix the issues, to avoid unnecessary tagging. Airjjl (talk) 21:58, 26 April 2013 (UTC)

This is not vandalism. This isn’t some 15 year old kid trying to be funny, these are fans trying to grieve, and celebrate Trevor’s life and his comedy. He made the statement of what he would like to be referred to in death, and although this may not have been a serious statement, long term fans felt that it was proper for it to be included, and refusing there efforts is nothing short of disrespectful. I ask kindly that you reconsider. IanMCMurph (talk) 23:24, 9 August 2021 (UTC)

I agree with you. Wikipedia is not a place for inside jokes and meme culture. Besides, Moore only joked that he wanted his obituary to carry that description. Wikipedia is not an obituary. The anonymous commenter a few sections below had it right: I think the quoted anecdote could be mentioned as an aside in Moore's death section, but it should not be treated as a point of fact.—The Keymaster (talk) 06:17, 10 August 2021 (UTC)
To be clear, this section was posted in 2013. Discussion of recent events is better suited to the sections lower down. -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (she/they) 09:39, 10 August 2021 (UTC)
Well, that's eerie. So the trolling on this page isn't exactly new, then. :-/ —The Keymaster (talk) 04:28, 11 August 2021 (UTC)

Edit requests

I'm leaving one answered request, and have removed the rest of the "local sexpot" edit requests. I suggest we just remove those rather than answer so we don't have an enormous page of just those requests. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 01:02, 11 August 2021 (UTC)

ScottishFinnishRadish, I'm just gonna archive them. I suggest using a tool to do this as its faster and allows us to refer back to these requests more easily for stuff like page protection.--Shibbolethink ( ) 22:11, 11 August 2021 (UTC)
Shibbolethink, sounds good. I didn't have any luck getting one click archiver to work in the past, but I'll install it again and see if I have better luck. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 22:18, 11 August 2021 (UTC)
ScottishFinnishRadish, this is the line I added to my common.js: importScript('User:Technical_13/Scripts/OneClickArchiver.js'); // Backlink: [[User:Technical_13/Scripts/OneClickArchiver.js]] If it doesn't work that's a whole other issue maybe involving other scripts :( but you can also archive manually of course. --Shibbolethink ( ) 22:20, 11 August 2021 (UTC)
That's the one I just installed now, following the link from your edit tag. Maybe that one will be the ticket. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 22:23, 11 August 2021 (UTC)

Accident

"Accident"? Could you be more vague? I'm not trolling or fooling around...

Adding "Local Sexpot" to the description

Trevor had states that he wanted to be referred to as the "Local Sexpot" upon his death. I think it would be nice to honor that on Wikipedia.

https://mobile.twitter.com/itrevormoore/status/1413167188886786049 Siccsucc (talk) 16:40, 8 August 2021 (UTC)

If a reliable source covers this as a meme arising after his death, it might be appropriate to mention (but not to use) in the Death section. Otherwise, though, this is sadly too silly for Wikipedia. I kinda wish it weren't, but it is. -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (she/they) 19:44, 8 August 2021 (UTC)
As a comedian, I’m sure the late Trevor Moore would really appreciate his offhanded joke becoming a reality. I think it’s disrespectful to take this little joke away from the long term and loyal fans trying to grieve and bond as a community, and celebrate Trevor’s life. I vouch that it say (self proclaimed local sexpot) so that it is more accurate to his word, but still a bit more accurate, since we can neither confirm or deny whether he was in fact a true local sexpot. IanMCMurph (talk) 23:15, 9 August 2021 (UTC)
IanMCMurph, could you find a secondary reliable source which describes this story?--Shibbolethink ( ) 23:26, 9 August 2021 (UTC)
(edit conflict) Hi, IanMCMurph. Welcome to Wikipedia! I'm a longtime fan of Trevor Moore's as well, probably for more than half my life now. I find the sexpot joke very funny, and I think it's great that fans are popularizing it in the wake of his tragic death. That said, while Wikipedia does on very rare occasions allow a touch of humor in articles, it has to be done in a way that won't be confusing to readers who aren't "in on the joke". So while it definitely would be funny to you or me to see "and local sexpot" in the lede sentence, most readers, not knowing the context, would be confused, and would likely think the article had been vandalized. As I said above, if you can find reliable sources mentioning people calling him a "local sexpot" after his death, it may be appropriate to mention that in the section on his death.
I hope that explains things. Thanks. -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (she/they) 23:28, 9 August 2021 (UTC)

What I personally would do would be to add "Local Sexpot" into the Personal Life and Death Section, for example, "In the instance of his death, Trevor Moore satirically posted on twitter that he wished to be referred to as a "local sexpot." Therefore, this edit would include context, of course, some sources are probably already going to be made referencing this joke, so this edit may come soon. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Modern MarcAntony (talkcontribs) 22:33, August 9, 2021 (UTC)

Yes, this would be the responsible way to do it, in my opinion. It shouldn't be treated as a reportable fact but rather as an anecdote he made about his eventual death.—The Keymaster (talk) 06:05, 10 August 2021 (UTC)
I've removed it from the article because the sourcing was bad. The Vulture source calls him a sex pot, the Metro source quoted a producer who used it and the last source didn't mention it. Additionally it was WP:SYNTH as there was no sourcing about the tweet, merely the language being used in a quote and a single source. If we have sourcing about it we can use it, but we can't synthesize it. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 10:48, 11 August 2021 (UTC)
