Translation needed

The spanish article IS about transvestism. I have been unable to find spanish language sources dealing with 'Trasvesti' as a distinct pan-latin american transgender identity. South America
I disagree with the usage of the expression "South America" in such generalistic way. South America is a subcontinent, where various countries are located and where various cultures have developed. It shouldn't be used as if it was a country. Jgsodre (talk) 15:34, 26 November 2012 (UTC)
Are you sure about this article?
I found very strange that an article supposedly about a Latin American expression don't have Spanish and Portuguese interwikis; I know that in Portuguese (or, at least, European Portuguese) "travesti" means "transvestite"--MiguelMadeira (talk) 20:11, 13 February 2017 (UTC)

Original research
This article appears to be full of WP:OR and needs this information to either be verified by reliable sources, or removed as such. Examples of what looks like OR to me include references to what "Latin American trans social movements", "Brazilian trans circles", et cetera, believe, the long lists of translated additional terms that travestis might identify as, attempts to establish travestis as mutually exclusive from drag performers, the criticism of the WPATH Standards of Care, and basically most of the article. --Equivamp - talk 12:57, 19 April 2019 (UTC)
