Notes[edit]

Should there be a link to the pope mobil?

Picture Caption[edit]

"Benito Mussolini demolished a spina of medieval housing to create the Via della Conciliazione leading into St. Peter's Square."

Mussolini destroyed housing that was several hundred years old? And the term spina does not lead to an article relevant to the usage. -SeaFox (talk) 22:48, 4 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Well, strictly speaking, Mussolini himself only delivered the first symbolic blow with a pickaxe! There's a bit more coverage in the Borgo (rione of Rome) article.
It was pretty controversial then and now, even if it was more slum clearance than demolition of grand old landmarks.
In this case "spina" seems to be a district nickname rather than a general term for a group of buildings, so it's probably best to unlink it. bobrayner (talk) 23:19, 4 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Naval fleet missing[edit]

I was looking here to informion about the current naval fleet of the Vatican. But there's no information here. It is said by a professsor em., that the Vatican has the right for a naval fleet since 1921 but this right is not used ever since.

I have only found information about flags of the naval fleet of the papal state in the internet [1]. BTW: What's the naval ensign of the Vatican? Flag of Vatican City does not list it. Could someone do some research in favor of this entry (Naval fleet of the Vatican since 1921 and their naval ensign) Thanks a lot, --Scriberius (talk) 20:01, 30 April 2014 (UTC)[reply]
