A lot of people say it’s Deep In The Woods but Phill Calvert confirmed that it was Wildworld Haileyemzz (talk) 03:35, 19 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Date of death[edit]

There appears to be several different dates given for Pew's death in various media, I'm just listing them here with the references so this can be investigated further:

The article currently says he died on 7 November 1986. This is referenced in The secret history of Australian independent music: 1977-1991 by Clinton Walker: "On 7 November, the Bad Seeds received bad news. I got a call too, from someone in Melbourne. Tracy Pew had died, of complications arising from his worsening epilepsy.". This date is also listed in The Rolling Stone Encyclopedia of Rock & Roll (2001 edition).
The Encyclopedia of Dead Rock Stars: Heroin, Handguns, and Ham Sandwiches by Jeremy Simmonds gives a different date: 5 July 1986. Simmonds also asserts "(At least three different dates exist for Pew's death—this appears to be the accurate one.)"

I've kept 7 November 1986 and used Walker backed by McFarlane (Nick Cave entry) which says "Your Funeral . . . My Trial contained all original material. The album title took on a sense of irony when, on the eve of its release in November 1986, Cave faced a somewhat tenuous vagrancy charge in New York and his former The Birthday Party compadre Tracy Pew died as a result of a brain haemorrhage". Apparently The Age published an In Memoriam notice for the 20th anniversary of his death on or about 8 November 2006 but I haven't tracked this down yet so I can't use it in the article.shaidar cuebiyar (talk) 08:41, 14 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
