Is adding an additional year for animal cruelty landmark?[edit]

At first glance, it seems normal enough and there's no explanation for why it's a landmark. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.96.29.151 (talk) 22:15, 24 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Organization, Structure, comprehension[edit]

This article is extremely hard to follow and is poorly written. The sentence structures make no sense and the way it describes the order of events is completely incomprehensible as well. It bounces back and forth from the past to present to more distant past, the sentences run on in ways that make no sense at all 67.176.21.71 (talk) 22:17, 27 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with this writer. You would obtain a poor sense of the complex events surrounding this set of crimes from reading this Article. I say that based on watching several hours of Testimony and attorney presentations and arguments (Law and Crime Network, You Tube channel). According to Todt's own testimony, for example, he and Megan grew up in and/or were educated in Connecticut and lived there for many years before the move to Florida. The Article suggests a weak connection to the North East, but Todt himself may have grown up there; was it in Connecticut, for example, that his Father had his mother shot? Once the family moved to Florida, Todt would fly back and to Conn during the week, so as to take care of the family's business. They had both a rented house in Celebration, where they lived, and a nearby Condo. Given that they were about to be evicted from the house (in which the crimes were committed), and that the family had serious debt, it is unclear why they didn't live in the Condo and save the $5000 monthly rental). The Article also deals inadequately with the crimes. Todt gave two interviews to police, at least one of which was taped and played as part of the court proceedings. From what I took away from the hours of testimony, Todt's admission of guilt occurred because he was taking the fall for crimes that Megan herself had committed (which were presumably related to her various health conditions and a recent set of spiritual and quasi-apocalyptic beliefs). The crux of the Defense's case was that Todt had admitted to killing his wife and children initially, partly to take the fall and partly because he was 'out of it,' as he testified on the stand. After his conviction, he was .[permitted to make a statement and again disavowed his part in the crime, laying it all at the feet of his deceased wife Droffroad (talk) 02:25, 29 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
