Greek names[edit]

Unbelievable, people are still changing good Slavic names into Greek names...;-) Politis (talk) 12:57, 7 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Even though I totally disagree with the government's policy of renaming every bit of land into Alexander the Great or Philip of Macedon, I still have to tell you that Philip II is a part of the region's history, not just Greek. Heraclea Lyncestis (nowadays Bitola) was founded by Philip II, as was Plovdiv in Bulgaria, so be rational (even though to name a stadium Alexander the Great is a thing that not even Greeks would do).

Anyway, the talent of the guys that come up with the names is so magnificent that they actually consider the stadium an arena, and they claim that the official name is Национална Арена Филип II Македонски -> National Arena Philip II of Macedon!? No matter how stupid that might sound, I still have to rename the article because that is, as they claim, the official name in English (it's not a stadium, it's an arena...). We could actually name it Nationality Arena Filip II Macedonian, because those that take care of the traffic signs are so illiterate and somehow managed to make this fuckup: NATIONALITY ARENA FILIP II MACEDONIAN (morons!). P.S. I have to add that I feel proud that only two days after they put the sign there (after the news broke out), someone (an angry citizen I hope) took really good care of it with red paint. Move to new title[edit]

The most common used name is 'Philip II Arena', so I will move the page to that name. The full official name 'Philip II of Macedon National Arena' will however stay in the box. Icaf (talk) 01:39, 25 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
