Thanks, B Jambulingam. I see. Two follow up questions, please. 1. Are we saying then that there is no English translation of Tirunavukkarasar's Tevaram, IV:67:5? Or are we saying that one or more translation(s) exist but you don't presently have access to it/them? This [1] doesn't seem to have the same numbering system - he only goes up to 64 it seems. 2. Could you please clarify what is the meaning of the text, "describes the feature of the deity"? I am sorry but I do not think that this is a routine phrase with an immediately obvious meaning for the uninitiated reader. As guesses, is the intention "describes the Temple" or "describes the Temple's location", or something similar, or can you give an alternative phrase that helps make the meaning plain? Now my reply to your queries: 1. To my knowledge there are books on English translation of Tirunavukkarasar's Tevaram. As I have no access I could not able to add. Whenever I get, I assure, I will add with relevant numbers. Of the 12 (volumes)Tirumurais Tirunavukkarasar Tevaram songs come under the category of No.4, 5 and 6 or the 4th 5th and 6th volumes belongs to Tirunavukkarasar. In the reference cited for Tirunavukkarasar Tevaram (IV:67:5)the first one deals with the volume (IV), second one deals with the place (67th sacred place/temple)and the third one (the fifth song)deals with the song. For this temple it is IV:67:5. 2. Regarding the meaning of the text, "describes the feature of the deity"? I wish to state that, generally, it speaks about the Lord Who is residing in the temple under reference. Not only in this song, but also most probably in all the songs Lord Siva is praised in different ways such as (a) O Lord Siva, You are the supreme, (b) You are greater than Vishnu and Brahma, (c) Nobody can conquer you, (d) You are the wind, fire, ocean and so on, (e) You are wearing beautiful ornaments, (f) You destroyed Kama, (g) you are in the minds and hearts of your devotees, (h) you are endless, (i) you have no form but you are everywhere, (j) you have mighty Ganges on your head...... and so on. As The Lord Siva is praised like this in all the songs in one way or other,o the routine phrase is used. I tried my level best to clarify your points. Hope this will do.
