Is this correct?[edit]

This article implies that production ecology theory does not address soil or edaphic conditions. I am not in a position to know if this is correct, but would be surprised if this is still the case. -- Paleorthid 00:54, 1 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No, it's not. Modern simulation system allow simulation of soil water and nutrients, and of pests and diseases, via dedicated software frameworks (APSIM, OMS3, BioMA) Marcello donatelli (talk) 20:14, 5 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Scope?[edit]

This article seems to focus solely on crop production, but my understanding of production ecology was that it could apply to virtually any ecosystem type (ex: natural tree stands, experimental forests, rangeland, etc).
