Would transcribing the lyrics for the Weird Al Show theme song violate copyright? --Jack (Cuervo) 20:56, 19 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Lyrics are lyrics and are freely distributable on the internet and can be found on any internet lyric website. I think as long as mention that it is copyright weird al it should probably be okay.--Elysianfields 05:47, 12 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

FCC Requirement?[edit]

What's up with this FCC requirement for the show to be educational? Why is that? And what regulation/rule is being applied? If no one cites any sources or says anything about it, I'll just delete it.--Elysianfields 05:47, 12 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I added a link to Weird Al's FAQ page where he says this; it can also be found by searching google. Quentin mcalmott 05:42, 3 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]
At least at the time the show was made, there was a big push for children's television to be more educational. You can see it in a lot of shows that ran around the same time. Even shows that didn't openly display that content would still be required to run moral messages at the end, even if they weren't made in America, such as Sailor Moon.Rebochan 00:00, 27 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

merge?[edit]

My vote would be against a merge for now. The DVD will contain extras that weren't on the show including a "making of" Fatman and commentaries and other stuff. It's not yet known how the extras will relate to the show that aired. It's probably better to keep two articles until we know. --Elvis 03:40, 2 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I think this article should be merged. Are there any other examples of a show/movie getting a separate entry than its DVD release? Not that I know of. Joltman 18:20, 8 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I support a merge as well; any possible notable differences between the DVD release and the show as it aired can be detailed in a section on the DVD release. Dar-Ape 20:20, 24 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Summary[edit]

Shouldn't there be a summary of the show at the beginning of the article, rather than just getting into the spiel about CBS interference? Really, just looking straight at this article, it's not really that clear what the show was about to people who have no idea who Wierd Al is. 124.169.36.244 (talk) 05:54, 31 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
