A few questions…[edit]

Is there a source for the claims that they were trying to buy the building?

All the the sources that I’ve seen suggest that they rented the space - which is apparently a heritage building - and immediately began renovating it without the approval (or even the knowledge) of the property owners or liability insurance.

Maybe this should be linked to the sovereign citizen moment. 🙄

Also, the article in the Ottawa Citizen says that there are links between the group and the so-called “Freedom Convoy”.

The article is fully sourced, so I don't know why you need to ask about their attempts to buy it. But citation 7 details this.

I put in what is verifiable, which, as I saw it, was that they denied being linked. The links seems speculative. But you're free to make or propose an edit. As you appear to have never edited wikipedia before, I do appreciate you asking here rather than jumping in an editing, as this is clearly a more polarising topic than most.
