Notability[edit]

Hi there. The template above the article asks for reliable sources, but I've been editing Wikipedia long enough to understand the notability rules, and I always ensure my articles are backed by these sources as opposed to blogs and threads. Citation for this article came from The Punch, the Vanguard, and The Nigerian Tribune, all reputable news journals in Nigeria. Other sources include Pulse, a reputable entertainment e-magazine, and Encomium Magazine, another magazine. I am still trying to find more sources, and will look into JSTOR for more citation. It should also be noted that TNQ is now a major Nigerian pageant, which is why I created the article. Thank you.Jemmabond (talk) 07:11, 31 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Minor/non-notable contestants[edit]

When I first started editing the MBGN and Miss Nigeria pages, the Wiki administrators nearly took them down because they claimed my edits were against Wiki rules; only winners are acknowledged in the tables, and only notable contestants are mentioned in the rest of the article. Even when my cousin competed in Junior Eurovision I tried creating an article for her, but it was deleted because she was only a contestant, not a winner (Luckily, she DID win eventually). How come another editor keeps extending the table on The Nigerian Queen to include other runners-up, most of whom have faded into obscurity? You never see that on other Wiki pageant pages like Miss America or Miss World. Why is it happening here?Jemmabond (talk) 07:57, 24 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
