Additional information[edit]

I've made a few corrections to most of the sections. There's only one thing that *I* think is missing, though you may not agree. I gave the North American premiere of this opera in 2004 - would it be injudicious to mention that? Also, tenor Stephen Brown has created a new orchestration of the opera, since the band parts are lost. What about this one? Slfarrell 22:48, 16 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Sure, add the North American premiere info. I suggest that you look at how I edited the similar info about Dulcamara for a style guide. Also, if there has only been one performance in recent years, you should say so, or else give relevant info about modern peformances if you know it. I wouldn't spend too much verbiage on the orchestra parts. We generally don't mention those. If there is a weblink to all that info, that is enough. -- Ssilvers 23:56, 16 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Done. I did not mention the band parts. I don't know of other performances. Slfarrell 15:53, 17 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I was forced to remove the links to the Royal English Opera page. AOL Hometown shut down on Nov 1, and all the REO material went with it. If you still wish to cite this, the production was mentioned in two printed sources: "The Gaiety" magazine (which is more of a newsletter like the Palace Peeper or the Trumpet Bray) and "The Sinfonian", a members only magazine. I also have the press releases on the production if that helps. However, if Jane Annie is not notable according to Wiki guidelines, then Nautch Girl must likewise be not notable. Information box at top right of article[edit]

Is there any use or reason in these boxes? Most of our musicals and light opera articles manage very well without. Why have them for just a few? Where are these things decided? If we must have them for some doctrinaire reason, can we at least put them across the bottom, out of the way, available for the delectation of those that way inclined, without clogging up prime real estate at the top of the page? See Elgar orchestra music pages e.g. this one for a good example. Tim riley (talk) 16:05, 12 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I was unaware that this was such a sensitive topic. I have undone my edits and reverted to the last version by Tim Riley. Sorry. Francesco Malipiero (talk) 17:58, 12 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The opera project favors these boxes, but I have never liked them. As you saw here, they get in the way of a better image. It would be better to have a horizontal navbox like they use at the musicals project for, say Stephen Sondheim musicals.
