Page count statement could be misleading[edit]

"the abridged American edition reduced the page count from 1,728 to 944." - the abridged edition was not done for the American market. It was done to create what Mark descibes as a 'mass market edition', for the world. You could count the pages in the American print edition if you wanted, but it's fairly meaningless as the number of pages depends on the size of the type and margins, etc. It would be better, I think, to compare the word count in the full and abridged versions, and not mention specific countries.
