NPOV Tag[edit]

I made an NPOV tag, because the article contains lots of unattributed explanations what this teaching means and why it is ok - this is opinion which needs to be attributed correctly for NPOV. Also critique regarding certain teachings should be included. --Irmgard 07:30, 19 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Vatican II[edit]

I checked the reference and quote: The reference is not Rodriguez but May who refers often to Rodriguez but not at this point (he does, in the sentence before referring to "intrinsic goodness of the material world" which is not the same subject). The linking to Vatican II is not referenced by May and the quote is not about the teachings of Opus Dei but from Lumen Gentium and does not refer to Opus Dei, so it is somewhat off-topic here. I added the correct reference and reworded the para to sum up what the reference says - I also moved it to the bottom, as its actual content does not warrant a top position. --Irmgard 20:56, 20 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Working over the article[edit]

The article was very closely following an Opus Dei webpage, which is not encyclopedical, even when referenced. I'm doing a thorough work-through. --Irmgard 20:56, 20 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I removed this para - it's not about the teachings but about behavior and it's content is already contained in Opus Dei in Society, so it's not necessary to move it there. --Irmgard 20:56, 20 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

The members of Opus Dei are ordinary citizens who enjoy the same rights and are subject to the same obligations as any other citizen. In their professional, family, political, financial or cultural activities, they act with freedom and personal responsibility, not involving the Church or Opus Dei in their decisions, nor presenting those decisions as the only Catholic solutions. This implies respecting the freedom and the opinions of others.
