Davis has worked as a nurse, nurse anesthetist, and cattle producer.[4][5] Davis was elected to the South Dakota House of Representatives in November 2020 and assumed office on January 12, 2021, succeeding Ray Ring.[6] On January 4, 2022 she announced her candidacy for the District 17 State Senate seat.[7]|Davis has worked as a nurse, nurse anesthetist (CRNA), and cattle producer. Davis was elected to the South Dakota House of Representatives in November 2020 and assumed office on January 12, 2021, succeeding Ray Ring. On January 4, 2022 she announced her candidacy for the District 17 State Senate seat. She assumed office as a State Senator on January 10, 2023.

As a member of the South Dakota Senate, Davis passed 11 prime sponsored bills and 58 co-sponsored bills. During the 2023 legislative session Davis sponsored and had signed into law:

HB 1059- establish community paramedic endorsement.

HB 1079- make an appropriation to the Department of Health to provide grants to support mental health and suicide prevention programs, and to declare an emergency.

HB 1285- create a critical care endorsement for emergency medical technician-paramedics.

As a Senator in 2023 Davis served on the Senate Education, Senate Select Committee on Discipline and Expulsion, Senate State Affairs, and was Vice-Chair of the Senate Health and Human Services Committee.

Davis’s campaign page states her legislative focus is towards rural medical services, economic development, and family first legislation.
