Requested move 26 August 2021[edit]

The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.

The result of the move request was: moved to Stade Yves-du-Manoir

None of the 4 responding editors supports the original proposal or opposes a move to Stade Yves-du-Manoir per WP:COMMONNAME and WP:CONCISE. Target name already redirects here and appears to be WP:PRIMARY per 162 etc. (non-admin closure) Havelock Jones (talk) 06:58, 20 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Stade Olympique Yves-du-ManoirStade olympique Yves-du-Manoir – French typography is "Stade olympique", not Stade Olympique. Arorae (talk) 21:58, 25 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose as proposed because this is the English-language Wikipedia so the French typography is irrelevant. However, I have no opposition to a move to the shortened Stade Yves-du-Manoir per this. GiantSnowman 08:30, 28 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose Per GiantSnowman, however happy for the move as suggested by him also. Rugbyfan22 (talk) 09:11, 28 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose In the English Wikipedia, we use capitals for proper nouns. The C of E God Save the Queen! (talk) 16:00, 30 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Per above, move to Stade Yves-du-Manoir. 162 etc. (talk) 15:54, 1 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment the Stade Yves-du-Manoir was the former name for Montpellier Hérault Rugby stadium, currently titled GGL Stadium. Given Wiki's policy of using places common names rather than sponsor names I think that article would likely be the primary topic, or at least a disambiguation page as the main target.Skeene88 (talk) 19:42, 1 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
The stadium in Montpellier gets about a dozen clicks per day, as opposed to 200+ for this one.[1] A hatnote to GGL Stadium would take care of any ambiguity. 162 etc. (talk) 21:51, 1 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
