Edit war[edit]

This page has recently been subject to edits by User:TheEdanJT. This user wishes to add the information that the school's motto was created by "Year 12 student Edan Taggart in 1983'. I thought this was a bit dubious, especially since the user adding the material has a username apprently based on the name of the person who, according to them, created the motto. I reverted the addition on the grounds it was unreferenced, and possibly unnecessary over-detail even if it was. TheEdanJT reverted my reversion on the grounds that he 'goes to this school' [1]. This assertion makes his original edit even more dubious; if he 'goes to this school' now how was he also a Year 12 student in 1983? In any case, as any experienced Wikipedia editor will know, whether he goes to the school or not has no bearing on unreferenced content. I explained this to this user using the edit summary, though he reverted my edit again with the same old justification. I subsequently left a detailed message on his userpage explaining why his edits are inappropriate, though he has ignored that and has reverted my edit for the third time now, this time however with no justification at all. I am making this declaration on the talk page now in the hopes of stopping this disruptive behaviour. Since attempts at dialogue have thus far been ignored, further reversions by TheEdanJT will instead be reported to administrators. Damien Linnane (talk) 10:59, 17 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
