Bad article name?[edit]

In Tallinn neither cab drivers nor any hotels have ever heard of "St. Mary's Church". The church is mainly known as Tallinn Cathedral (which translates into Dome Church). Why do we have this odd name? --SergeWoodzing (talk) 17:16, 29 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Well, there are three cathedrals in Tallinn so I guess that rules out "Tallinn Cathedral". The article has only one reference in English which offers either "St Mary's" or "Dome Church". A bit of googling shows that most sources mention both names. I don't think there's a strong case for moving the article, but creating a redirect from "Dome Church, Tallinn" (and variants) couldn't do any harm. Since you seem to be knowledgeable, could you please clarify the "three catedrals" bit by listing them clearly in the Tallinn article? This church is the only one (I believe) which is called "the Cathedral" in Estonian. --SergeWoodzing (talk) 12:04, 30 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The other two cathedrals are Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, Tallinn and St. Peter and St. Paul's Cathedral, Tallinn. The Tallinn article doesn't have a religion section, but List of cathedrals in Estonia might be a useful link. Tammbeck (talk) 12:49, 30 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I've edited "Tallinn" so all three notable cathedrals are mentioned, created redirects to "St Mary's" and added links to the "list of cathedrals in Estonia". I've discounted the Orthodox Cathedral of St. Simeon's and St. Anne's, which does not have its own article in English. Tammbeck (talk) 15:38, 30 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
