John Blanden's Climb to the Eagle[edit]

The Climb to the Eagle ought to be notable enough for an article, as should John Blanden, but for the moment it is redirected here.

Here's a couple of references for future use:

  • Innes, Stuart. "Drive to recall our first Grand Prix". AdelaideNow. News Limited. Retrieved 27 October 2011.
  • "About The Club". Home page. Sporting Car Club of South Australia. Retrieved 27 October 2011. John Blanden's Climb to the Eagle held in Adelaide just before the Australian Grand Prix each year is legendary.

I doubt it would survive an Articles for Deletion challenge. The newspaper article describes a club drive, of which thousands are held across the world every year and none of which are considered notable. The second source does nothing other than acknowledge the event exists. Either way as it presently stands it fails Wikipedias standards for notability. John Blanden is another case. --Falcadore (talk) 08:55, 27 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I said "ought" :-) This year is the 27th running of the event, but, yes, I found few usable references on the web. It can be a par of this article though, except that I need a usable reference showing the SCC of SA actually does organise the event. In fact, what the Google search does show is that a lot of people don't register (225 do), but just join in the drive, then go to other places for the morning tea and/or lunch. I have redirected Climb to the Eagle to the Adelaide Street Circuit where there is more content (at the moment). Mark Hurd (talk) 01:18, 6 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
