DOS vs. Windows[edit]

It is wrong to call this a DOS game when it required at least Windows 3.1 in order to run. Clovis15 02:57, 30 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, a DOS version was also included on the CD as well as a Windows version. Thus both are correct, and so I included both categories. SchuminWeb (Talk) 04:48, 30 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Rare demo version?[edit]

Sierra On-Line created a special CD-ROM version of Space Quest 6's demonstration game, which was distributed with PC Gamer Disc 9 included with Volume 2, Issue 8 from August 1995, early pressings of Phantasmagoria, and possibly other media.

What is this about? This line sounds like the special demo version is pretty rare. In the case of Germany, it's not. It was shipped as a regular demo on several discs of major PC magazines in that time. What about other countries? --217.237.149.145 (talk) 19:27, 16 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Your statement is an original research. -79.176.44.169 (talk) 14:02, 15 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
If it is an original research, how comes I had at least two copies of it? I lost most of my old magazine discs after I moved two times, so I only can prove that it is on the red disc of "PC Direkt spielbare Demos" from 1995. I just photographed it, so see for yourself: http://img507.imageshack.us/img507/5033/sq6demo.jpg
What I try to say is, it's not as rare as you let it sound like. Of course, it is a special demo version of this game and you can mention that in the article, but there is no need to list on which discs it was distributed once. --217.237.149.145 (talk) 10:06, 19 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I was actually the one to add the information about the demonstration version, using the PC Gamer demo disc as the primary source for the article's validity. I also have my copy of the PC Gamer disc with the demo as physical evidence of same. How else can it be reliably referenced for Wikipedia's standards? Also, it should be noted that it wasn't because the demonstration was rare, but it features a, original side-story prologue that is not included with the full game, which is significant to mention as part of the game's entry. --GloryQuestor (talk) 17:29, 5 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
