I'd been pulling together information for this article too. Here's the stuff I'd run across:

There are some ambiguities about the opening date. I have Middleton's history of the South Shore (published 1970) but he doesn't mention it. Mackensen (talk) 20:01, 28 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Seems like most seem to generally agree, except for the Masonic page which seems a tad self-contradictory. Based on the other sources, I'm led to believe that the cornerstone date for the new Temple was actually the dedication date and not the date the stone was laid. (I'll assume the newspaper guys knew what they were talking about since they were there.) The date from Along the Rail Line is almost certainly rounded. I'll update the opening date. I think the author wasn't being specific out of either slight ignorance or ease of use. According to one of the sources you provided earlier, an earlier terminal was located at the location of the LaSalle Hotel, which was still at the same intersection. Or he could have just been wrong. Then again, that's someone writing about something that happened 50 years earlier. The Trib and Sun-Times frequently make incorrect statements about "L" history.
