If it isn't notable enough for an article, it doesn't belong in this list[edit]

Surely not? I propose Bookswellread and particularly Listal get reinstated.--Darrelljon 16:42, 10 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

People have taken both sides of this argument. If we don't have some criteria for inclusion, this list will not be sufficiently maintainable. It also may lower the notability of the list article & make it more likely that it will be deleted in AfD. WP:Notability always applies, but we may disagree about how to measure notability. I might be ambivalent towards BWR.com. It was speedied (rather than proded or AfDed) & has only been deleted once (though that speedy was under db-web (so notability concerns). Listal has been deleted FOUR TIMES! Including both a prod and an AfD! WP has established it is non-notable. The only possible reason to include it in the list (since no list will ever be truly "comprehensive") will be seen as promoting that site.
I like this list & think it is valuable, but it also must be clean and verifiable and notable! --Karnesky 17:22, 10 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Why was DVDAF's page deleted and why was dvdspot removed from this list? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.170.197.192 (talk) 21:10, 19 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

rename[edit]

Propose that we rename the aricle social cataloging; the applications are the only instantiation of the concept right now, and in general we should probably write about the broader topics first than the specific instances of them. --Lquilter (talk) 04:44, 29 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Don't forget IMDb and IMDbPro[edit]
