Names of the characters are wrong or have been changed[edit]

Some names of the characters are different. For example, Daveed Diggs character is called "Andre Layton", not "Layton Well". Please check the official instagram page: https://www.instagram.com/snowpiercertv/ — Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.4.21.43 (talk) 09:13, 29 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Timeline[edit]

According to an April 2, 2020, article by Joseph Baxter at Den Of Geek, the series takes place "seven years after the events of the 2013 film"[1] (my emphasis) and is not a reboot.

Just thought this was important enough to put here.2600:8800:784:8F00:C23F:D5FF:FEC4:D51D (talk) 22:33, 3 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

That article contradicts every other source that has this show happening shortly after the "event" and also would make no sense if its following from the film. We'll go by the wealth of more official sources that say its before the film. --Masem (t) 22:46, 3 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

After watching the first episode, I agree. 2600:8800:784:8F00:C23F:D5FF:FEC4:D51D (talk) 04:45, 19 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Is it really a good idea to post a spoiler about who Mr Wilford is on the castlist?[edit]

While some may already know this I think it's somewhat disappointing for others. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.74.157.81 (talk) 21:17, 18 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

please see WP:SPOILERS.--☾Loriendrew☽ (ring-ring) 21:23, 18 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
We don't add pure speculations/assumptions on Wikipedia. Spoilers should be confirmed by watching the episode.— YoungForever(talk) 21:24, 18 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
You're missing the point. If someone reads the page BEFORE watching the episode and reads the cast list they'll find out which actor is Mr Wilford which is the major reveal at the end of the first episode. All I'm saying is that the pertinent actor doesn't need this plot point revealed in their cast list entry. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.74.157.81 (talk) 08:54, 23 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia contains spoilers, per WP:SPOILER which states: It is not acceptable to delete information from an article because you think it spoils the plot. Removing spoilers on Wikipedia is considered to be disruptive editing. — YoungForever(talk) 09:00, 23 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I haven't deleted the relevant part, that's why I'm discussing it here. I'm not even saying don't have it on the page. But many people will come to the page to just see who the castlist are (as I did) and are presented with a spoiler plot point in the castlist....so, to put it another way. Why is that information needed in the castlist? Rather then just referring to the actors initially presented role as 'The Voice of the Train'? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.74.157.81 (talk) 07:48, 2 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Another person who was spoiled by the cast list here. "She is later revealed to be the true mastermind behind the train's murders." for Lilah is also a major spoiler. Hardly any Netflix or TV series reveals so much about the plot as this page currently. Why? Could one just take it out? It doesn't take away from their characterization anyway... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.2.98.213 (talk) 15:05, 11 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Please go read my comment above about spoilers. We do not censored spoilers on Wikipedia. — YoungForever(talk) 15:10, 11 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sorry but this is becoming a circular argument and I feel you're just missing the point. I am not saying, nor have I, that spoilers shouldn't be posted. I am saying that spoilers shouldn't be posted in something as specific as a cast list that no sensible individual would visit on the expectation that the cast list would contain storyline spoilers, especially if they're crucial to full enjoyment of the storyline. There's now two individuals that have made this specific complaint and referring to the spoiler policy is deflecting with the specific point being raised, which is not about spoilers per se, but about spoilers in something as 'neutral' as the cast list. I'm going to file this for a third opinion review after you acknowledge reading this latest posting. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.74.157.81 (talk) 13:29, 15 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I am saying that spoilers shouldn't be posted in something as specific as a cast list that no sensible individual would visit on the expectation that the cast list would contain storyline spoilers, especially if they're crucial to full enjoyment of the storyline. Yet, you still want to remove spoilers from the cast and characters section because you said they spoil the storyline. You are the one who is missing point. Please reread my comment again. — YoungForever(talk) 15:40, 15 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Facts from first episode[edit]

According to Jennifer Connelly's character Melanie Cavill, after the "forward"/set-up/history, the train has been moving for "six years, nine months, and twenty-six days" and the outside temperature where the train is 'at' is "minus one hundred nineteen point six degrees Celsius" (or "-119.6°C" which is -183.28°F).

I think this is important enough for the article/entry, just don't know where to put it. 2600:8800:784:8F00:C23F:D5FF:FEC4:D51D (talk) 04:42, 19 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Missing actor[edit]

I'm on mobile and don't edit well there but cat list is missing Matt Murray as Erik, a fairly significant character I'd have thought (I think he's be guest cast but haven't verified). If no one beats me to it, I'll check into adding tomorrow when I'm back on my laptop. Millahnna (talk) 09:22, 9 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Timeline again[edit]

If this is 7 years after the film train was destroyed, is this a second train? Why does the train take a year to go round the Earth. 24,000 miles in a year is about 3 mph? Why does it need to move at all? Staying stationary most of the time would be much safer. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.66.195.81 (talk) 14:42, 16 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Wiki is incorrect...the "premise" section states that the train circles the earth once per year[edit]

Yet..according to the show intro it circles the earth every 133 days: See here: https://i.imgur.com/RUDH8jU.png

I would want to change the reference in the 'premise' section but don't know how to provide a proper link showing the proof as I'm guessing an IMGUR link isn't sufficient. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 23.233.26.103 (talk) 21:55, 28 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Definitely not a reliable source since it is a screenshot of a Youtube video. The Youtube video isn't a reliable source either. — YoungForever(talk) 22:20, 28 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
So how do we change it...Its verifiable by simply watching the opening credits on Netflix...how do we update the wiki as it is wrong based on the series explicity stating in the opening credits that it is 133 days... It was also stated by a character in S01E05 of the series as discussed here: https://www.reddit.com/r/snowpiercer/comments/h94x8o/season_1_spoilers_episode_discussion_15_justice/ Surely there must be something that can be used to update this wrong info? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 23.233.26.103 (talk) 00:49, 30 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Reddit is definitely not a reliable source. You need to provide a reliable source. — YoungForever(talk) 00:59, 30 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Well i'm trying...speaking of reliable sources...the source used in the wiki for this fact (refrence 1) doesn't even state 1 per year revolutions in the article...so that article itself doesnt support what wiki states. How about this for 'reliable'? A link to the opening credits directly from TNT website (TNT Produces the show) You can see the same screen shot information at this video https://www.tntdrama.com/shows/snowpiercer/season-1/episode-5/justice-never-boarded at the 2:28:00 mark. Thanks for your help....there has to be some way to either get this fixed or, in the mean time take the wrong info down as it is not supported by the refrence currently on wiki. Cheers. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 23.233.26.103 (talk) 01:08, 30 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Although the Architectural Digest article (reference #3) is extremely interesting and mentions the number of cars that compose the train and some of the design decisions behind the production, it does not address the speed of the train. This page from TNT's "Snowpiercer" website does: "...revolving around the Earth in a 131-day journey..." https://www.tntdrama.com/snowpiercer/wilfordindustries#/about. The section, The Eternal Engine, gives the average speed as "...100kp/h or 62mph...". The video "Snowpiercer: Wilford Industries Welcomes You", also gives the number of cars as 1,001. Second season release date[edit]

It’s WRONG. It’s a Netflix original and it was released TODAY as seen on Netflix. I’m changing it back to Jan 26th. Don’t change it again. Justanotherwikieditor27653 (talk) 17:33, 26 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

It is a TNT broadcast that aired first there on Jan 25. Maybe it then was available on Netflix on Jan 26, but we go with the first broadcast date which is the 25th. --Masem (t) 17:38, 26 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

“a reboot of the film's continuity“[edit]

I have no idea what this means. I can’t even think how to rephrase it. Can anyone clarify it? Thanks :)Northernhenge (talk) 20:34, 9 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Apologies, it’s already wikilinked to an explanation —Northernhenge (talk) 23:02, 11 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
