Several issues[edit]

  • In regards to the events in the last sentence of this article, what did Simon de Langres have to do with these events? That is, were they merely contemporary events, or was he in some specific way connected to them, or responsible for them? If he was, how so?
  • The citation that is given seems to suggest his tenure as Master was 1362-1369. Why is there a disconnect between the source and the dates here? Where is a definitive listing for dates of various Masters? Why is the WP list of names / dates uncited?
  • The citation source that is given for this article seems to suggest, in a vague non-finger-pointing way, that the major characteristic of this Master was that although of generous heart, and driven by an ardent desire to bring finances of the Order into better condition, his plans ran into various obstacles that were too great, and alludes to a criticism that he may not have availed himself of the all proper procedures that were available. Is that a fair characterization of his tenure? Where are proper sources that address these issues?
  • Does this article presently really meet verifiable standards? How do we know that any of this is correct, and where is an encyclopedic assessment of the relevant impact of his tenure?
