Lamoreux or Lamoreaux[edit]

The only sources which spell the name "Lamoreaux" are Federal documents. He is uniformly referred to as "Lamoreux" in state documents and the state historical society website, as is his brother Oliver (also a legislator). --Orange Mike | Talk 19:08, 2 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • The Iron Trade Review obituary and the newspaper article where the sketch was found also say "Lamoreaux", check lettering under picture.

    • Good point; I should have stipulated that the only "official" docs which use the spelling with an 'a' are the Federal ones. --Orange Mike | Talk 16:52, 3 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
      • Maybe it is a Wisconsin thing. Several of my ancestors from Marinette changed their names in about this time period.Roseohioresident (talk) 18:37, 3 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
