To improve but not merge, given that these are important distinct topics; overlap is nevertheless recognized. Klbrain (talk) 16:21, 10 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I propose that Sha Tin New Town be merged into Sha Tin. I think that the content in the Sha Tin New Town article can easily be explained in the context of Sha Tin, and the Sha Tin article is of a reasonable size that the merging of Sha Tin New Town will not cause any problems as far as article size or undue weight is concerned. 128.240.225.68 (talk) 04:22, 20 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

jawp, zhwp, zh-yue wikipedia is also have separate documents. However, there is a view in the enwp that there is no need to merge the documents. In the future, there will be potential for development.--119.197.225.216 (talk) 03:40, 19 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. Sha Tin New Town covers a much more extensive area than Sha Tin. 219.77.116.215 (talk) 17:23, 24 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • I would say the set of article, Shatin, Sha Tin New Town, Sha Tin District really need clean up and choose one as main article instead of talking the same CBD in all 3 articles and slightly different narrative on education on all 3 articles. • Agree with Matthew. Keep all three articles but clean them up. Do not merge or delete them. 218.189.215.212 (talk) 10:07, 25 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

  • Agree with Matthew hk; cleanup and keep all 3 makes more sense, and all 3 refer to different entities (social-cultural geographic entity, public housing development, and political boundary respectively) and therefor would not be easily merged. Kdm852 (talk) 02:20, 11 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
  • It would not be logical or helpful to readers if the area got no article of its own just because it lends its namesake to the district. Sha Tin may not be a good example but cases like Kwun Tong, Wan Chai, Sham Shui Po or Yuen Long would be a lot more clear-cut. The area and the district (and the new town too in the case of Yuen Long) aren't the same thing. 218.189.215.212 (talk) 14:34, 22 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I suggest Sha Tin District is the primary topic instead and move anything about Education over there. While Sha Tin New Town (the Sha Tin-Ma On Shan Town), may be the scope limited to a infrastructure POV? (I knew HKU has a lot of government publication in their libraries. e.g. Public Works Depart. but sorry i am not in HK and i am not nerd enough to fly back to HK, read the books and rewrite the articles. Can i pass this job to someone else? Matthew hk (talk) 14:46, 22 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
With all due respect, you simply got no ability to comprehend the actual meaning of the phraseology. They aren't about the same thing at all. My frankest suggestion is that you should work on topics which you are genuinely familiar with, in a language that you actually mastered. 218.189.215.212 (talk) 10:40, 9 November 2021 (UTC)[reply]
