This Article Has a Really Bad Name[edit]

"Schlieren imaging" is widely used as a synonym for schlieren photography in general. I understand that this is a particular technique used in ultrasonics, but the name chosen is unjustifiably broad. This article should either be renamed something like "Schlieren imaging in ultrasonics" or probably better folded into schlieren photography since the part of it that's different from general schlieren imaging is very thin. Schlieren Photography Applications: wind tunnel testing[edit]

Hi. The first Schlieren image I ever saw was of an aircraft test model in a wind tunnel. The airflow, shock waves and separation points were neatly highlighted, as I recall. Perhaps that is worthy of inclusion as an application of the Schlieren camera — Preceding unsigned comment added by GMAN IOM (talkcontribs) 11:01, 28 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
