Santurce - History - Pablo Ubarri Capetillo[edit]

Pablo Ubarri Capetillo's nobility title granted by the Spanish Crown was "Marqués de San José de Santurce. Not "Conde" ("Count"). The I have found no evidence that the designation of the "Condado" section of Santurce is not related to him.

Santurce (township)[edit]

The topic currently found at Santurce, San Juan, Puerto Rico is totally unreliable, biased and deceptive; built around partisan political groups, one reason it has been moved from title to title, location to location, no citations, and blatant advertising for names of people. Santurce is a district in San Juan that acts as an independent self-determining township within the island of Puerto Rico. The next new version is genuine, cleaner, unambiguous, fact-based and explicitly precise when compared to the old version. (201077FOURTH (talk) 13:04, 7 July 2010 (UTC))[reply]

I absolutely agree this page needs more references and there's much to be done overall. Nevertheless I don't see the political biased you mention and would appreciate if you point out some specific samples. I've been doing lots of work on the Spanish article version; to the point of making it one of the best available recompilations on the topic. Santurce is as, or more important to San Juan than Harlem is to New York City. It has no self-determining government or political status but it has a reach history as part of the municipality of San Juan and it even was an independent Municipality until 1864. The official division name that's given to Santurce is "Barrio". For centuries "barrios" have been the first "geo-political" division of Puerto Rico's municipalities, but nowadays they primarily serve statistical purposes for studies and publications released by the U.S. Census Bureau and the "Junta de Planificacion" or the "Puerto Rico Planification Board". It would be great to find someone who could help translate the Spanish version of this article to help improved the English version. --Javierpuertorico (talk) 02:58, 10 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

One of the most important films by Roger Corman available at archive.org under a Creative Commons License. Lots of natural lighting with a smooth jazz soundtrack sets a mood much like the very old "creature features" of the late 50's & early 50's. Shot on location in Puerto Rico, set in actual hotels, casinos, underwater (obviously shot through the glass in an aquarium like Marineland), a very groovy millionaire's seaside pad and a historic giant castle like fort. An apocalyptic fatal love triangle story involving the last three people on earth who demonstrate the essential survival skills of getting loaded, fishing, and fighting in the water. The direction is superb with exciting angles and action scenes that squeeze every drop of talent out of the budget cast who portray this trio of upper class sleaze bags. Lots of entertainingly goofy dialogue and situations throughout the story make you begin to wonder... are they even serious about surviving? Not much they do or plan to do makes much sense as well as a few scenes, in particular, a beach scene involving a corpse of a young lady and some very strange lines. I enjoyed every bit of this movie and really dig the seaside millionaire's pad complete with television and hi-fi system built into the wall, a yacht parked outside and a fully stocked bar. Fact: they also raided the bar at the Caribe Hilton. (Luz 4 Noble Price (talk) 02:27, 15 July 2010 (UTC))[reply]

1) recently named Puerto Rico Convention Center
2) including "Isla Guachinanga" in the "Laguna San José"
3) should be attributed to Merhoff Sub-Barrio (22) [1]
4) including "Isla Piedra" one km off the Atlantic coast

Article was so poorly written that I needed to start from scratch. Sports should be in seperate section, not part of the article.--XLR8TION 18:56, 28 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
