Summer/Winter[edit]

Probably inappropriate for readers in English to use the vocabulkary of the seasons for a place that is virtually on the Equator. Locals refer to the dry season as verano and the wet season as invierno, which normally translate as summer and winter respectively, and the wet season is indeed warmer than the dry season. The typical Spanish to English translation, apt when dealing with an Iberian climate, is probably not suitable for application here. But much of the article looks like it came out of a BabelFish translation anyway. Kevin McE (talk) 17:40, 27 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Area the area given under Ecuador provinces is different from this article and both figures are inconsistent as less than the areas given for the two cantons that make up the province
