Honorius III Savelli[edit]

The text seems very confused, especially when compared with the Wikipedia article on Honorius III, to which it is linked. The article on Honorius III says he was a member of the Savelli family; his name was Cencio Savelli. Honorius IV was Giacomo Savelli; he took the name Honorius in honor of his illustrious relative. Some material needs to be deleted, and some rewritten. The Savelli did not "own" Santa Sabina, but they had a large compound of several palaces on the Aventine. A pope has the right to assign a Roman church to one or another religious order or Chapter of Canons to use and provide services in. A Savelli pope assigned Santa Sabina to the Dominicans, a brand-new religious order that needed an outlet in the Eternal City.
