distracting usage of regional units of measure: crore, lakh, etc[edit]

Howard from NYC (talk) 08:09, 8 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Q: given there are 6 billion non-Indians it would be reasonable to either:

(a) discontinue the use of these terms on wiki articles in favor of thousands-millions-billions-trillions which are more universal

(b) offer equivalences next to each such number... example: 7.6 lakh (760,000) meters of plastic pipe

Vandalism of Beach sand mining section[edit]

The beach sand mining portion of the article seems to be repeatedly vandalised by pasting copy pasted information from non-creative commons sources. In particular the content mentioning V.V Minerals in particular seems to be the most targeted. Poorly sourced or copy pasted edits should be reverted immediately, content irrelevant to the topic (i.e illegal sand mining in tamil nadu) like illegal mining of limestone and granite should also be removed.
