title and disambiguation[edit]

Hi, i made an edit on the hatnote on this article and was quite properly reverted, because my edit included an error ("San" rather than "Saint"). I don't know how that happened, did the tool I was using facilitate that? Oh well. I have been edited lots of links to disambiguation pages. What I intended i think was just adding the "(disambiguation)" to the link, to be clear to readers. And also gets them to the same place. This is basically per wp:D guidelines. Happy to discuss that.

Other question: I am surprised that this town article is at the base name "Saint-Gabriel, Quebec" when it has population of about 2000 and there are several other Saint-Gabriel's in Quebec. Two others have similar or higher population though all are less than 3,000 population. It is noted at its article that Saint-Gabriel-de-Rimouski was known simply as Saint-Gabriel up to 1998. This article is not primary in any way I can see. So I wonder if it should be moved to "Saint-Gabriel, Lanaudière, Quebec" or some other term, and use "Saint-Gabriel, Quebec" as a redirect to the section in the disambiguation page at Saint Gabriel. Note Saint-Gabriel (with a hyphen) is a redirect.

Without more info I would not make that move, but, is there more info? I imagine it was unhappy for the Saint-Gabriel people in the La Mitis RCM if they were forced to change their name by the post office or whomever. What happened? How did this article's Saint-Gabriel "win" in effect? It would enhance one or both of the articles to give more. The Saint-Gabriel-de-Rimouski article has almost zero content in its text. --doncram 21:29, 28 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

All the other Saint-Gabriels in Quebec have appended names that are official. Only this municipality is officially known as just Saint-Gabriel. Therefore there is no need to further disambiguate it as per WP:D. Thanks for your contributions. -- P 1 9 9   12:57, 31 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
