Contested deletion[edit]

This page is not unambiguously promotional, because it does not promote a specific product or service offered by the company, but merely explores a commercial company's history, target audience, and size.

The page mentions the company's name, key facts and figures and how the company has developed. Where necessary, reliable references have been provided for statistics.

Instead of deleting the page, can someone please point out which parts of the text are promotional? Stephomitchell (talk) 16:20, 12 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Possible non-good-faith AFDs and CSDs (possibly pranks); notability not in question[edit]

STA Travel are roughly about as prominent in the travel agency industry in the United Kingdom as the Thomas Cook Group. Their notability is not in question per se. Even if the article had been previously been written in a promotional tone, it certainly does not on its own warrant or merit deletion or speedy deletion. I would personally really question the motives of those, who are or were obviously British, who had nominated this article for deletion or speedy deletion in the past. If it were not all malicious, certainly student pranks (as their main clientele, at least in the United Kingdom, are British University students and British single adults roughly under the age of 30 years) certainly cannot be ruled out. -- Urquhartnite (talk) 10:08, 20 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

History error[edit]

I am pretty certain I purchased my first airline ticket London to Corfu/Athens-London from STA in 1972 just prior to becoming a student at London University. Endsleigh Insurance also catered to student travellers at the time. This page needs to be checked for factual errors. 2A02:C7C:E0AC:3200:C577:E0D:36CE:A7B6 (talk) 13:03, 4 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
