Name of this article[edit]

@Brad101:Please, what is the convention for naming an article on a ship?

Example MV Britannia (2015) Laid down: 15 May 2013 Launched: 14 February 2014 Christened: 10 March 2015 by Queen Elizabeth II Completed: 26 February 2015 Maiden voyage: 14 March 2015

Example HMS Vanguard (1909) Laid down: 2 April 1908 Launched: 22 February 1909 Commissioned: 1 March 1910

In the absence of prior experience; I chose to name it 1904 because that’s what theshipslist.com does.

SS Athenia (1903) Launched: 20 October 1903 Maiden voyage: 21 May 1904

There are few items on this vessel on the WWW, Where a date is given its 1904. A search for Athenia 1903 gives even fewer pickings...

I feel it important to get this right now.

What are the guidelines to follow here? Launch, Maiden voyage? --BeckenhamBear (talk) 08:38, 6 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Long standing policy is to disambiguate by year of launch; see WP:SHIPDAB. Those articles that don't follow that convention are likely incorrect. Brad (talk) 13:18, 6 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Link problem[edit]

The links for German submarine SM U-53 seem to be a problem there is an article on the project already for SM U-53. --BeckenhamBear (talk) 09:53, 6 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Fixed. Brad (talk) 13:18, 6 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
