Added citation to previously uncited section under "conservation." --ImperialSquash (talk) 00:47, 7 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Small Edits: - spelled out "ribosomal DNA" the first time it appears in the article; included in hyperlink to rDNA page. - added 's to Alzheimer's

Big Edit: Added the section "Breakdown of roles and interactions between SIR proteins" through "SIR4" in the section previously labeled "Stabilization of rDNA in budding yeast." Even though the mechanism of these 3 proteins is described above, I thought it would be helpful to breakdown what each one did because the proteins have similar names so it's easy to get lost. I also included some specific known interactions between the proteins and their substrates, and I created an image of SIR2 interacting with SIR4's SID to illustrate the interaction I described under the "SIR4" section.

I understand that some of these SIR proteins have their own pages but at this time, the pages conflate SIR proteins with their SIRT human analogs, and I think it is helpful to have these descriptions here where the full focus is on the S. cerevisiae system. I decided to write this section because it was the breakdown I wish I would have had when I started research into this subject in the lab. Let me know what you guys think! --ImperialSquash (talk) 05:21, 7 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
