"Take to talk", why don't you[edit]

Your section about tourist attractions in the general area is original research, unsourced and no matter what irrelevant in an article about an airport. People pick mushrooms in the forest. No shit. "Take to Wikitravel". 83.253.126.40 (talk) 19:16, 31 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

"The first airport in the world built without an air traffic control tower"?[edit]

This claim seems wildly inaccurate. Non-towered airports exists throughout the world, and the United States has 20,000 alone. Additionally, while new, this airport will not be the first place the virtual tower technology was applied to.

I'm considering removing that claim unless someone can clarify what it means. It seems horribly incorrect at face value. Viero223 (talk) 07:33, 5 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The claim is sourced in a Swedish article (google translation at [1]). What I assume that article is trying to say (or what got lost in the machine translation) is that it is the first new airport to have had only a virtual tower from day one. Certainly there are plenty of airports with no tower, no doubt including many minor airports that have never had any form of ATC. Unless anyone has any better explanation, I suggest changing the text along the lines "the first new airport designed for virtual tower operation from the outset".
