Crystal presence within the page[edit]

@Another Believer, Germaperry01, and Griffindaly: As it is not yet known how the situation with the disqualified competitor will be handled, it is no longer correct to post the situation in a separate section called "Controversies"? (As we did on the Sherrie on USA S12 page). And imo having a disqualified contestant even when she's not in the promo and MTQ doesn't seem sensible enough. And all the sources cited on the page, actually don't make reference to the disqualification, ergo it more likely that she was cut off before airing. Dominikcapuan (talk) 16:36, 11 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

It is exactly what I was thinking about when creating the contestant progress page. Being not shown in the "Meet the Queens", should we even mention her to begin with? I mean, the episodes were filmed WITH HER. I think we should wait how they roll out. Sherry Pie was disqualified only on episodes 12 if I'm not mistaken, but we knew her status since the premiere episodes... Germaperry01 (talk) 17:34, 11 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Was this Crystal even cast in the show? 2A00:23C7:ED16:2401:FD31:6828:683B:4520 (talk) 18:07, 11 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Dominikcapuan + @Germaperry01: BBC is known to cover up controversies on their network, this is why C.L. did not appear in the promo, including the Meet the Queens. At the moment, it's best to not mention the disqualified queen out of the privacy of the victims and the contestant, and there's no source about them. Eventually someone will notice that an extra queen was in the show, and WOW + BBC will probably add a message, like they did for S.P. — JuanGLP (talk/contribs) 13:49, 28 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
After watching the episode, there is a queen who has been clearly edited out of the episode, not given any recongition, but you can notice a strange presence at the back of the stage and in the untucked werk room with a blonde wig (not Tomara's gold wig) and a black outfit. I guess this must be Crystal. 78.147.62.25 (talk) 21:38, 28 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Is the recent edit to this article in which it says that this queen was disqualified officially verified? So far neither the BBC or WOW have made a public statement. 78.147.62.25 (talk) 01:23, 29 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
from what i can see, one recap article has mentioned her. i relegated the sentence based on that source to the production background section. i am of the opinion that the disqualified contestant should not be included in the contestants list or progress table because, unlike Willam, Enorma Jean, Sherry Pie, she is not being shown in the television broadcast in any way. as a wiki article covering the tv show, rather than a fandom page going into detail on backstage trivia, i think only what is actually shown on the show and can be sourced to each episode should be shown on the tables that most readers of these articles primarily focus on. open to other suggestions/change in consensus but i’ve edited the dqed contestant out of the tables for now. 04:44, 6 October 2023 (UTC) Griffindaly (talk) 04:44, 6 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Gita Kapoor: Do not add Crystal back to the table. ---Another Believer (Talk) 12:51, 6 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Mention in Article[edit]

I do feel that she should be mentioned in the *article*, if not in the tables.Naraht (talk) 13:47, 6 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

That's fine, no problem with mention in the prose based on reliable sourcing. But, she should not be included in the table when she hasn't appeared on the show. ---Another Believer (Talk) 13:59, 6 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Another Believer: But Crystal Lubrikant HAS appeared on the show. That's the point, you can see that she’s been declared safe twice in a row as she’s spotted at the back of the stage both weeks. Despite her being removed for inappropriate reasons, to restrict readers of information isn’t right.2A00:23EE:1160:1C0A:303E:5006:85F5:1D44 (talk) 15:10, 6 October 2023 (UTC) strike sock-- Ponyobons mots 17:11, 6 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The show has not acknowledged her as a contestant. She may appear in the background at times, but that's not enough to include her in a table. Someone watching the show would have no idea who Crystal is if they are not following production details. ---Another Believer (Talk) 15:13, 6 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
That is why we add NOTES. You're removing information that is relevant to viewers who want to know why a contestant has been edited out.Gita Kapoor (talk) 16:00, 6 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
May I also add User:Another Believer that YOU redirected Crystal Lubrikant to this article, so you clearly acknowledge her existence. Trying to remove her on the basis you don’t want a predator listed is silly. See Sherry Pie on [[RuPaul's Drag Race (season 12).Gita Kapoor (talk) 16:05, 6 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Redirecting Crystal Lubrikant to this article is fine because she is mentioned in the article's prose. No one is doubting her existence, and you're misstating my reason for non-inclusion. She does not need to be included in the table. ---Another Believer (Talk) 16:07, 6 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
please see wikipedia guidelines on notability and giving due weight; this article describes a television show. the sources we reference for the main article tables describe what is shown on the edited and aired television broadcast. backstage, trivial information about a contestant who is not shown competing on the broadcast is not notable enough to be included in these tables; describing the situation can remain in the production section because it is relevant to the production of the season prior to it actually airing. further, i have as of yet seen no sources telling us what her placements would have been during the original filming, nor during what episode’s filming her disqualification occurred, so the information being added to the progress table is obviously unsourced and not acceptable for a wikipedia article (see WP:Verifiability.)

finally, please note the guidelines on the so-called Bold, Revert, Discuss cycle; once you make a contentious edit that is reverted by other editors, the onus is on you to achieve consensus here in the talk page on the content you’re hoping to include. it’s clear that, so far, the prevailing consensus opposes your preferred version of the article. please refrain from re-adding removed content (i.e. edit-warring) unless and until consensus is reached on the talk page to include it.

thanks! 16:14, 6 October 2023 (UTC) Griffindaly (talk) 16:14, 6 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Gita Kapoor: If you continue adding details about Crystal, you will be reported to admins. Knock it off. ---Another Believer (Talk) 16:17, 6 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Shown on screen or not, she was a contestant on this season and not including her in the table is restricting information. Gita Kapoor (talk) 16:49, 6 October 2023 (UTC)strike sock-- Ponyobons mots 20:59, 13 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, well, find other editors who agree with you, otherwise you are going against consensus. ---Another Believer (Talk) 16:51, 6 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
she is not shown as a contestant on the television competition program that this article is summarizing. Griffindaly (talk) 17:33, 6 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
“you can see” is original research. we need a source to include information. Griffindaly (talk) 16:16, 6 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Second time?[edit]

The article says second time a queen has been disqualified for Misconduct and says Sherrie Pie was the first. Given that from what I can tell in reporting this misconduct occured during Filming, it seems like this is sort of a cross between Sherrie Pie's misconduct and Willam's. Yes, I know William has, as far as I can tell, been forgiven by WoW, but I think this would make more sense if it was either specified in some way to make it more similar to Sherrie Pie, *or* include both Willam and Sherrie Pie.Naraht (talk) 17:14, 10 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

i removed that sentence altogether. it’s unsourced synthesis of information Griffindaly (talk) 19:10, 10 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
