It's quite possible that this guy fails the notability test. I regard that as a failure of the test - not of the man. His name comes up repeatedly in the design of many important and notable cars - not flashy but pointless super-cars - but in cars we all owned and loved. His Mini Clubman design is iconic, and in Britain (at least) his Ford Cortina design was a revolution. So his works are widely known and appreciated - but he (perhaps) is not. For that reason, he needs a Wikipedia article. If I wish to understand how the Mini Clubman came to look as it does - I need to know more about Roy Haynes. It is unfortunate that artists who work with marble or paint on canvas are easily accepted as notable - where one who works in the background producing art in steel and plastic on everyday practical designs are not. <sigh> SteveBaker 16:18, 4 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
