Text removed[edit]

Comment below moved from my talk page:

Paragraph removed due to inaccuracy and no factual proof as shown by the third source. The existence of this paragraph is damaging. The quote in it is accurate, but the validity of that quote is widely discounted and thus makes the addition of it and any commentary about it damaging and not proven. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Keithcrime1965 (talkcontribs) 18:48, 30 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Several of the comments on the Brad Laidman blog page here post-date my rewriting and expansion of the article in 2014. It's late here now, but over the next day or two I'll read through them and come to a judgement on what changes, if any, need to be made to the article. There are very few reliable sources, in Wikipedia terms, about Penzabene, and clearly there are sensitive family matters involved, about his life and death. Neither blog posts, nor comments made about blog posts, should strictly speaking be taken into account here. However, we do need to be both sensitive (in relation to living people, in particular), and accurate. Ghmyrtle (talk) 22:56, 30 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
As a codicil to the above, I have improved the referencing in this article to conform with agreed Wikipedia guidelines. As the above long serving Wikipedia editor notes, there seems to be few reliable sources for this individual, which is clearly not ideal. However, neither should Wikipedia simply cede to the comments of those close to the subject matter, who may well have the best intentions, but not necessarily fully understand Wikipedia's editorial stance. Wikipedia:Five pillars is the overriding starting point on such matters - whatever understandable family sensitivity exists.

Thank you Ghmyrtle for your concern. Indeed all of the information in the second paragraph although accurate do come from that same source and should be fixed in that same way Keithcrime1965 (talk) 01:53, 31 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
It now appears that all the Penzabene material on the Brad Laidman site, including the comments, have been removed. Ghmyrtle (talk) 07:59, 31 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I did take down for the time being the material on the Brad Laidman site. I am thankful for Ghmyrtle apparent obvious concern that this page be more accurate and sensitive, but I also decided that the proof of that which include personal emails from his family are better used elsewhere, which may result in articles published in better places that this site would actually accept Keithcrime1965 (talk) 16:04, 1 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Fine, thanks. Hopefully we can get to a position where we can write, for instance... "X said this (sourced), but his family/son/etc. said this (also sourced)...". Ghmyrtle (talk) 17:54, 1 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
