conflict of interest[edit]

Most of the work on this page was done by an account called "Lab for Social Research," which is the name of the subject's organization. This seems like a pretty clear conflict of interest, as this page was created (and frequently edited & augmented) for self-promotional purposes.

Notability[edit]

Hey, User:David Eppstein, could you explain how exactly Willer passes WP:PROF? It's not immediately clear to me. Moreover, where are the necessary high quality RS? Thanks, ~ HAL333 19:37, 4 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

What necessary high quality RS? WP:PROF does not require in-depth media publicity stories, unlike some other notability guidelines.
As for WP:PROF, look at his Google Scholar profile (bottom left link in authority control box). Look at WP:PROF#C1. Look at his profile again. The part you should be looking at in the profile are the "cited by" numbers. Typically we pass academics who have multiple publications with three-digit citation counts. Maybe one would need more than that in psychology, as it is typically a field where the citation counts are high, but he has much more than that, multiple publications with four-digit counts.
Put another way, Google Scholar claims that there are approximately 20,000 published sources about Willer's work. —David Eppstein (talk) 22:40, 4 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
